Law decree no. 18 dated 14 February 2016 known as the "decreto banche" (the "Banks' Law Decree") introduced a set of measures aimed at fostering the disposal by Italian banks of their portfolios of non-performing loans. The measures have been finalized following the conversion with amendments of the Bank's Law Decree into law no. 49 of 8 April 2016 (the "Conversion Law").This briefing looks at the main amendments introduced by the Conversion Law.
