This session provided our in-depth analysis of the latest major developments in PRC data regulation and how the regulatory environment is evolving. We considered the recently enacted PRC data legislation, in particular the Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law – what new rules they introduce, which questions they answer and which ones they leave open. We also provided guidance on how multinationals with operations in the PRC should approach the new rules and some thoughts on the future of the PRC data regulation landscape.
